For race two the conditions continued to build with the windspeed a steady 25 knots with gusts into the mid 30's. Strong wind and wave conditions made every manuever an adventure as the boats took turns showing off their bottom paint and at least one sailor discovered that sailing can be a "contact" sport.

In a 20 knot southerly breeze, Jay Sawyer grabed the early lead off the starting line. Sailing the favored port tack to the right side of the course Sawyer increased his advantage rounding the 1st windward mark ahead of Nichol, followed by Robinson, Stuchlik and Kleppinger. After a "brisk" downwind run to the leeward mark the fleet, now down to three boats, was faced with the formidable challenge of beating back to windward against strengthning winds and building seas.

With Sawyer retireing at the 2nd mark, Nichol inherited the lead and never looked back (Managed to hang on), earning his second bullet of the year. John Stuchlik held off the hard charging Kleppinger to cross the finish line in second, but dropped to third on handicap.
